Barn Conversions

The conversion of rural buildings to residential dwellings can often throw up planning challenges. It is important to approach such conversions in the correct way in order to ensure the best case is presented to the local planning authority maximising your chances of the application being approved.

One Planning has considerable experience within Norfolk and Suffolk and are able to offer the benefit of this to our clients. Early pre-application advice is always recommended.

Prior Notification Procedure-Change of Use from Agricultural Buildings to Dwelling Houses (Class Q)

The government has recently amended the General Permitted Development Order 1995 to allow the conversion of agricultural buildings to residential use for up to three dwellings depending on certain criteria. One Planning specialises in advising clients on how to take advantage of this planning relaxation to permitted development rights to increase the value of your land assets. We are presently dealing with a number of these enquiries and would be pleased to provide expert no obligation advice. To read the provision of the new legislation please click here.
